After the fight of the UFC Champion Conor McGregor against Floyd Mayweather will be the bout between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez on September 6. Conor has the idea of becoming the “Iron Fist” of boxing and MMA perhaps he could fight either Canelo Alvarez or Gennady Golovkin is in the cards.
Last week’s media day, Conor McGregor was questioned about who he wants to watch. We’ll get to his response later, and focus on the quotes.
“I’m not really too much of fan of either but I think Canelo Alvarez’s a little bit stuck, a little bit flat on his feet. When I watch footage of him I just see him getting attacked – he has no feet under him.
“Gennady Golovkin I think came into camp, for this preparation, badly out of shape. I’m looking at him badly out of shape up in Big Bear and I just see a drained individual. So, although they’re supposedly up there as well, I don’t really think they are.”
I’ve never heard “out of shape” and “Gennady Golovkin” in the same sentence, that’s for sure.
On the other hand, he’s said that he’s a fan of Guillermo Rigondeaux and Vasyl Lomachenko, both won the Olympic gold medal twice and are known for their superb footwork and movement, likewise to their boxing skills. Conor McGregor wants to watch the 122-pound champ Guillermo Rigondeaux take on the 130 pound Vasyl Lomanchenko.
Conor McGregor had the faith on Gervonta Davis, Junior light weight champion of the world, a Floyd Mayweather protégé who is co headlining the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor pay-per-view, “is a good, strong kid.” Historically, Muhammad Ali, Roy Jones Jr, Prince Naseem Hamed, Chris Eubank Sr and Ireland’s own Bernard Dunne.
Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will clash on Saturday, September 16 at the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena as they fight for their "Supremacy".
